Subscription/Access Policy: Feel free to friend me and I'll probably grant access, although most of my posts will be public anyway! I'm looking to make more friends, so I'd be happy to have you, but you don't need to feel pressure to grant me access if that makes you uncomfortable.

Fannish Interests: I've had a lot of the years (shoujo manga, Harry Potter, Dragon Ball, Pokemon, Mass Effect, superhero comics), but lately I'm focusing mainly on Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Star Trek. I love a good space story! I recently decided to do a proper watch through of all of classic Doctor Who, so I'm having a lot of fun with that.

I like to post about: My journal is new, but I plan to post commentary and pictures as I make my way through Classic Who and the Big Finish audios. I'll also post about New Who, Star Wars and Star Trek, my personal life a little, and my cat a lot. I make icons occasionally.

About Me/Other Info: I'm a genderfluid (they/them prounouns), mentally ill nerd who likes being friendly and considerate. I have a lot of passion for my fandoms, although I can also be a little scatterbrained and flighty. I do my best to be consider of other people and to own up to any mistakes I make. I like to have a quiet, good time talking about science-fiction, animals (I love marmots and other related animals like squirrels), makeup, and toy collecting.

I'm looking to decrease my tumblr presence (too stressful for me), and increase my presence on other platforms such as this one.

Thanks for reading!

Michael Susanno, his brother Anthony Susanno, and Michael's Mexican Prostitute Whore were all summarily executed recently.

They threatened my life, my father's life, and my brother's life.

They murdered some of my family members.

Now they're dead.

I don't forgive and forget.

I let karma take the motherfuckers out. And they were taken out.

Renee Susanno, your husband faked his death. Anthony Susanno is still alive. He used you for your cars and house and when he got a lottery ticket he went to town to live it up. ORDER A HIT ON HIM.

Subscription/Access Policy: Friend away! I'm always looking for new friends to talk to. As for access, I grant almost everyone that subscribes to me. If I ever lock something it'll be something really personal and might be trigger-y. I will always warn if I do post something of that nature. There's no pressure to grant me access back.

Fannish Interests: Gosh, okay, I like a lot of things. But I also need to catch up on a lot of things. That's my problem.

I watch a lot of tv. Right now I'm watching shadowhunters and deciding if I want to catch up on Teen Wolf or not. My love for Scott McCall is enternal though.

I really enjoy pokemon,  digimon,  yugioh,  sailor moon, power rangers, tf&f series, harry potter, kingdom hearts, and classic spn. all of those were my fandoms before I ever knew what fandom meant. i am casually into new doctor who but Ten was my first doctor and my favorite era. I'm always there for the companions the most though and I love bill potts so much. i love sherlock holmes adaptations but i gotta say my favorite is elementary. i'm also into low energy video games so pretty much anything nintendo and the sims. I'm a little obsessed with the sims and the fandom it has on youtube. just a little. Superheroes are cool too! I like the mcu and dcu but i haven't watched all of it yet bc reasons. Omg star wars is a big one lately too. and the new Star Trek and hopefully the new series!! as for cartoons steven universe is like the best thing that ever happened to me probably. aaaand books!! gosh do i hope to actually start to read books. The last full thing I read that wasn't fanfiction was the hunger games.

sp in summary i love anything cheesy, ridiculous, and about friendship :D

I Like To Post About: honestly? cute animals. cats especially. i'll post about all the things i care about and I might  do reaction posts to a show or movie etc. I hope to at least post fic or a rec or just journaling in general! I'm trying to find my place in dreamwidth after being on tumblr for so long now.

About Me/Other Info: I'm an ace nonbinary (she/they pronouns) lesbian. I'm autistic, mentally ill, and have chronic pain & illness. I'm infp, capricorn, and a hufflepuff.

hurt/comfort is my whole life. It's like my one true kink. I love reading it, writing it, having discussions about it, reading meta about, you get it. It's my jam.

I'll mostly comment on stuff for a while probably. I have a strict rule that is if I see an entry/read a fic/etc I comment on it. <3

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: I'm extremely new to DW but I have been roleplaying for years. This is awkward because I really don't like to talk about myself. I much prefer to immerse myself in whatever I'm writing and keep things mostly IC unless we need to plot. Bandom/celeb RP is my jam and often played Travis McCoy on Livejournal, as well as William Beckett and Justin Bieber. Check out my journal for more info.

Top 5 Fandoms:
2006 Bandom RP Era Music (if that counts as a fandom and yikes that sounds old)
Anime
Harry Potter
True Blood
Tie between Pokemon and Final Fantasy X

I mostly post about: Until I get comfortable here, I may not post about much. I am so used to only using journals IC that I often forget that I can have one for myself.

I rarely post about: Eh I'm an open book once you get to know me OOC. I just prefer to keep posts IC.

My last three posts were about: RP, reconnecting with long lost writing partners, and storylines for my Travie McCoy muse.

How often do you post?: In my personal journal? As needed. If I join a RP community, probably weekly.

How about commenting?: I love commenting and interacting, for sure.

Hello! Like many people, I'm a longtime Livejournaler who's working on making the switch over to Dreamwidth. But I've had my journal there since 2001--that's pretty much my entire adult life! Change is hard! In order to help me shift my focus over here instead of over there, I'd like to see if I can establish a more active group of DW-friends. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my journal.

About me:
My name is Katie, I'm 38, I'm queer, and I'm female. I'm a writer and writing tutor by profession (I write fiction and book reviews; I tutor high school students and beginning creative writers). I grew up in the Hudson Valley in New York State, and currently live in Philadelphia. I live in a very old house with my girlfriend of eighteen years and our two cats. I love to read (favorite writers include E.M. Forster, Marilynne Robinson, Virginia Woolf, Pat Barker, Ursula K. Le Guin, George Saunders, etc). I also like cooking, baking, canning, and food preservation of all kinds; hiking and bird watching; gardening; swimming; watching baseball.... I'm a rather typical introvert and lead a fairly quiet life. I drink entirely too much tea.

About my journal:
I began my LJ as a reading journal, and still often post informal book reviews and thoughts on whatever I happen to be reading at the moment. In addition to writing about books, I often post about food and the projects I undertake in the kitchen. Sometimes I use my journal to track goals. Sometimes I write about the things that are going on in my life. Rarely (very rarely) I share my writing. Sometimes I post about art, or the creative process, or a quotation that caught my attention. I tend to post about once or twice a week. There are often photos. I keep my journal friends-only, but if any of this sounds interesting to you I will be happy to add you so you can check it out. No harm done if it turns out to not be your style after all!

What I'm Looking For:
Like I said, I'm transitioning from using LJ as my main online home, and am looking for a more active friends list here on DW. I like genuine connections and interesting conversations. I'd love to meet people who share my interests, especially fellow book-nerds who want to geek out about literature with me. Outdoorsy folks, creative folks, thinkers, makers, teachers, learners.... I can't promise to be the world's greatest commenter and I don't expect you to be either, but I would like to talk to each other at least occasionally.

Say hello! Let's get to know each other!

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: I'm fairly new here, but not new to fandom. I write fanfiction and I fandom-hop without rhyme or reason. I'm currently in a lot of small fandoms, and I love to add more, so feel free to try to get me obsessed with your favorite fandom. IRL, I'm a sleep scientist who doesn't sleep enough. I talk about my girlfriend a lot.

Top 5 Fandoms:
I'm going to cheat, but in my defense, I am in so many fandoms...
Small video game fandoms (Oxenfree, Stardew Valley, and Primordia)
Boku No Hero Academia
The Goblin Emperor
Harry Potter (always... never hop away from this one)
Haikyuu!!

I mostly post about: Fanfiction, logic puzzles, fandom things. I'll probably start posting about my life at some point, but those won't be public

I rarely post about: politics, specifics about my work.

My last three posts were about: A logic puzzle and some fanfiction exchange/challenge stuff.

How often do you post?: Not much right now - I'm new here. But I imagine I'll be posting at least once every week, if not more.

How about commenting?: I'm good about commenting when I'm feeling social, but sometimes I don't have the energy. I like making friends and being friendly though, so I try.

So this week's [community profile] fridayfive is about marriage:

1) Do you want to get married?
Nope, that is not one of the plans I have for my life (I have plans for my life - huh). I've never nurtured many plans about my wedding, and due to my tendency to be single, marriage have not been much of a plan either

2) Where would you like to get married?
Due to lack of religion in my life, it would have to be a civil wedding, which would have to be at the courthouse here in Bergen. That said, I'd really like to have the Star Trek Next generation theme (To boldly go where no strike>man one has gone before) as my wedding march. Just because.

3) If you were getting married in a week, who would be in your wedding party?
All my friends and my family! And my partner's friends and familiy of course. Because I love parties! there will be food, drink, speeches, more drinks, cakes, games, dancing, cakes, midnight snacks and dancing into the night. And the next morning, there will be breakfast.

4) What would your wedding colours be?
Weddings come in colours? If I'm getting married, I'll probably wear my Norwegian national costume -Bunad - with a bridal crown.

5) Does marriage mean to you 'til death do us part?
Whereas I do consider marriage to be a commitment and a contract, I do not think it unbreakable. Sometimes people change, circumstances change, and I consider a divorce to be better than an unhappy marriage.

And of course, this makes a nice intro to me talking about my upcoming travels, which goes to Berlin. I'm leaving on Tuesday with my friend K. We will be sightseeing around in Berlin until Sunday, when she goes home, and I am off to celebrate the wedding of two of my former students. Yes! Finally, after ten years of dropping hints, someone has at least taken my hints and invited me for their wedding. Granted they met in my class, so I have kind of had the best seat in watching their romance unfold.
I have also promised to hold a speech at their dinner. Which I will have to come up with before leaving, since I suspect I will not have time to be creative while being a tourist, drinking beers and looking at stuff.

And after that, when I come back, I will finally put my suitcase in the attic for a while, becasue taht will be the last trip in some time. Of which I am rather glad. Although weddings make me happy. Cakes! Dancing! People!

So, long time since I've been here. I had forgot how extremely exhausting the Breton course was. Two weeks with lectures, field-trips and socialising non stop. My brain didn't really have more sparks lefts when I came home to my rather crappy student abode in the night.

So the course was in Quimper, which is in Brittany, France's western arm. I did the same course last year. Then I didn't know anything, and I was the only one there without any knowledge of a Celtic language, those who didn't study one (mostly the old varieties like Old Irish), were native speakers of one (mostly Welsh), so to me nothing of the Celtic languages weird typology made sense. This year I took level two - I was still the only one who didn't know any other Celtic language, but things finally started to make some sense.

So we had language lessons in the morning, mostly in Breton only, and culture/history in the evening, and most of thes were in French, which is one of the reasons for the lack of spark left in my brain, because even though I did French is school, and was good at it, it is 25 years ago, and we definitely didn't learn much of the vocabulary you need to follow a lecture on 17th century religious debates.

But it was fun this year as well. Fun, but extremely exhausting. Perhaps I'll put up some pictures later on.

After Brittany I took the plane from the hilariously small airport in Quimper - I thought I'd seen my share of small airports, but this one is the smallest, and least organised so far. And they didn't even have a cafe!

Then I spent a couple of days in London, mainly doing nothing; drinking beer and looking at people. But one story needs to be told:

My second day in London, after I had done what ws my plan for the day, namely have a look at the Billingsgate Roman Baths, I ambled up to British Museum, since I have this habit of checking out a couple of rooms at the museum every time I visit. I hadn't thought of the enormous amount of tourists visititing, so the queues were just too long for me to bother with, so I just found myself a pub, bought a pint and pulled out my book. After about 10 pages, and older guy comes over and asks if he can sit by my table. And then we start talking. He tells me that he's here with his grandchildren and wife. His wife is English and he is of French ancestry, but live in Vancouver. So now they are in London a couple of days, and then they are of to France to visit his family.
Then our exchange was as follows:
-Where in France do you have family?
-Quimper in Brittany.
-You got to be kidding me! I just came from Quimper yesterday! I spent two weeks on a course in Breton there.

And then he switches to Breton!

I did have problems following of course, since he spoke a different dialect than I was used to, not to mention having learnt from his mother (who still talks to her sisters on the phone every day in Breton), so not quite my "book Breton".
That was just an amazing coincidence, and definitely made my day.

Now I'm back in Bergen and have spent a week in bed with bronchitis (again!)

Hi!

Fannish Interests: Doctor Who, Avatar: The Last Airbender, MCU, DCTV, the new Wonder Woman movie, Type Moon, Steins;Gate, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the 100, and whatever else has caught my fancy this month. I would really like to rewatch some things I'm really rusty on, like Stargate SG-1, too!

I play video games very, very occasionally. I love Portal and recently Mass Effect.

I like to post about: Most of my journal, right now, is a series of Dear Author letters. I write fic a lot, usually for exchanges. However, I just decided I'm going to do a fandom autobiography to keep myself coming back for a while and to develop a habit. The first installment of that fannish autobiography is up now, so you can see what me rambling about myself looks like. Other things I'm likely to write about are similar to things I write about on my tumblr (only to be ignored in general) such as character arcs, reactions to episodes, fanfiction, fanfiction ideas, and random tidbits about my life from time to time.

About Me/Other Info: Dog person, Aquarius, INFP. Nightowl, chronic napper. I like monsters and space. Never 100% outgrew my emo/goth phase but also sometimes wear pink. I just finished a teacher preparation program in May. Currently, I'm looking for a job. My sleep cycle is a wreck right now due to unemployment, and I'm trying to make my life something that is a little more satisfying to me in a lot of ways. 95% of what I do on the internet is related to fandom in some way. I am a religious person, but I do not post about it except where it is relevant to any personal posts I make. I just thought you should know because we won't be good-match friends if you tend to post negative things about religion (any of them, not just my own). I'm socialist-leaning politically, but again, I try to make my action and life speak for themselves and don't really preach to choirs or blog about it that much. I'm bi but chronically single and currently mostly okay with that. I know like five-thing about CSS and HTML and might someday get into making stuff with that.

To track my progress for my two most recent recording projects, I figured I'd start two charts :)

The podfic project is a lengthy Merthur fic I'm recording (over 82k, which should be over 10h of podfic in the end) and the other is a children's story for December that I'm recording for my niecelings. Let's see how I'll do, eh?

Also, I'll keep messing with this and adding columns because I'm a big fan of spreadsheets and this is what I do.

July is made for reading and writing

I've read more in July so far than in June at the same time. July is going to be mostly books in French. Mostly mysteries.

I'm watching Still Star-Crossed and it's good. Not great but good. Too bad it was cancelled. I did order the book.

It's 4 weeks until my summer break. I am eager to be on it. I don't have anything planned but rest. A lot of rest.

What I read

Debout les morts. It was a good, somewhat quirky mystery. I did not see the twist at the end. An early Vargas (mid 1990) that is worth reading.

Alexandra Marinina. Le cauchemar. First mystery in the series of Russian novels written by a retired police officer. Set in the mid 1990s right after the fall of the USSR. Well plotted, a bit convoluted but quite enjoyable.

What I'm reading

A 1930s Simenon's. La Guinguette a deux sous.

What I got recently

Sleeping Giants. Sylvain Neuvel.

Still Star-Crossed. Melinda Taub.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I used to blog on a Livejournal that is no doubt long since deleted and purged. I can't even remember the name of it. Randomly I started having fits of nostalgia, came online and discovered Dreamwidth. And here I am!

It's been a good decade since I've participated in fandom and I'm hoping to get back into writing fanfiction

I like to post about: Pretty much anything and everything that goes through my head
I would say it's unlikely you will find me posting about hatred, bigotry, politics, war, religion... that kind of thing
My last three posts were about: My need for quiet/stillness (and how my boyfriend doesn't understand it), starting to learn German and how I don't understand selfie culture

About Me/Other Info: I'm a Sagittarius born in the year of the dog, an ESTJ, a Ravenclaw and a geek. I studied Psychology but have never put it to use and instead I work in a bank. I love alternative music and grunge, my music tastes are still in the late 90s/early 2000s. I love science fiction and superheroes, Star Trek and Star Wars both, DC and MCU both (but only the shows/movies, I'm not a comic book reader). Some of my other favourite things include steampunk, carousels, zoos & safari parks, ripped jeans, pretty dresses, staying up all night, ghost stories, fairy tales, drinking tea, singing badly and collecting cushions and blankets
